Nostalgia

Out of the blue, my brother sent me this image this morning.  He found it in an old newspaper he bought.  I would have been in my mid-thirties at the time.

Mary Martin's was an iconic bookshop back in the day, and my boss Max Harris was a very well-known journalist and bookshop owner.  He was responsible for creating the "remainder" market in Australia.  He'd travel to UK and USA and trawl through publishers' warehouses searching for back list overstocks.  He brought back some wonderful bargains.  

Just about the best job I ever had - 9 fantastic years.
