Summer holiday 2023 day 6

Homeward bound back to Shropshire today, by the usual circuitous route to drag out the last day of being away. 

After saying goodbye to the holiday house and Owen's secret room* we stopped off at the playground in Meidrim before heading off to stop number 1 for lunch at Dolaucothi Roman gold mine. Unfortunately we missed our slot for the actual mine tour but got to explore the site anyway, including ringing the bell to say the miners were ready to descend.

Fed and rested we set off again for a stop in Aberystwyth for ice cream* and another playground then home briefly before out again to help celebrate Bill's birthday*...and still Owen didn't feel sleepy.
