Lovely day out
Today we had a walk along the Cromford canal where we spotted a little Grebe, ducking and diving in the weeds.(see extra)
The canal is no longer used by boats but restoration is underway to open the whole canal.
My blip today is of Leawood pumping station, sadly not open today.
Unique 1849 Graham & Co. beam engine pumps water from the River Derwent into the Cromford Canal. Steam supplied by two locomotive style boilers built by the Midland Railway around 1900.
