This New Zealand wood pigeon is a large endemic bird known in Te Reo Māori as the kererū.

This is the second time I have seen it visiting our garden for a drink from the birdbath. Still slightly nervous of human movement I only had moments to take one photo before it took flight - and I’m pleased it seemed to be posing for the camera!
