Mr & Mrs Wilson (the new ones)
It was an absolutely wonderful wedding.
(Still going on, actually, guessing they're into the cèilidh now, but I´ve come home to stay with Eden and Charlee. After the photos, there was cake and drinks, then the meal, so I even missed the speeches.)
The church was packed. So many people from so many places. So much talking and catching up. The orchestra and singing were amazing. The sermon was serious, but full of fun. The bride was beautiful, as were the bridesmaids. We had a prayer, videoed and subtitled, from Edilson in Brazil. The Brazilian food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. The atmosphere was so happy and relaxed. And loving.
Extras:
- the smallest bridesmaid, who can't walk yet, walked in holding her cousins' hands (her dress was made by a lady in church from an offcut of Allegra's dress, one more example of the way so many worked to make this day wonderful)
- our immediate family
- the groomsmen and bridesmaids
- the hall I showed two Blips ago, now full of people enjoying the food
Gratefuls:
- that the day went off so well, all the details coming together, and so many contributing with so much love and care
- Dave T running home, even though he was doing the video, to get me another lens, when mine broke, today of all days (though we were asked not to take photos during the ceremony, and I hardly took many more, so involved talking and helping; two of my extras were taken by my nephew, Dan, who was left holding my camera)
- Paul and Felicity's generosity and inclusiveness; everyone in church was invited to stay for the meal
And so much more... one grateful Mum of the groom!
