Muggy Sunday
A very warm and humid day was anticipated so I rose early so Merlin and I could walk to the allotment before it got too warm. We harvested French beans, tomatoes, apples and pears, and blackberries. Then beat a hasty retreat home to cool off.
Andy is still feeling under the weather so we had a gentle wander in the cool shade of the coastal oak wood (Nore Barn Wood) at Emsworth. It was delightful, the views across the harbour’s glistening water to Hayling Island and beyond, yachts out in the deeper water of the channel gently gliding by.
This afternoon we’ve rested inside, myself arranging these flowers from the allotment and garden, and starting to plan what flowers I’ll grow next year. Merlin’s been walked again and I suspect we are in for a rather muggy night.
