Indian Summer 2

My last butterfly survey of the year was hard work. Many families were taking advantage of the last school-free day and hot weather to enjoy the delights of Padley Gorge to bathe and picnic. There were no more butterflies around than 10 days ago when it was cooler, breezier and overcast. It was a relief to get it done and get home. Meanwhile, on our front lawn I noticed a second flush of waxcaps on the front lawn.
