Found it!
Following a 7am work Pow Wow, Biscuit & her rider went for a mini adventure into the Peak District.
1st stop was in the tiny hamlet of Tunstead to find a stone that marks the birthplace of James Brindley - a Civil Engineer whose work for the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater kick-started the Canal boom just over 250 years ago. Whilst the Bridgewater wasn't the first modern canal in Britain, it's aqueduct spanning the River Irwell must have made quite an impression, providing inspiration for further development of our network of inland waterways. The stone was erected & the adjacent Ash tree planted in 1958 on the site of the cottage where Brindley was born.
A short bimble further East led to Tideswell for a bite to eat, sat on a bench outside it's 14th century church ... aka the Cathedral of the Peaks.
Beautiful morning/ride/scenery/sunshine*
*all valid :-)
