Took my dahling daughters in our local IKEA this afternoon for a look around. Eldest came out with a Coconut Palm for her room and youngest a cooling rack & food container for her new interest in baking cupcakes.
Amongst the picture frames are an eclectic display of Manchester icons & Hacienda nightclub inspired imagery. Two in the pic above are photographs of graffiti artworks from Manchester's Northern Quarter.
The top one is of late Broadcaster & Factory Records boss Anthony Wilson. His gravestone in Southern Cemetery simply says "Broadcaster. Cultural Catalyst" which is not an understatement.
The bottom left pic is of band, Joy Division's late singer, Ian Curtis. Their debut album, Unknown Pleasures, was the first LP released on the Factory Records label.
Bonus extra is us sat amongst the mirrors. We snap this pic whenever we go in together, although eldest dahlings expression suggests she is not as enthusiastic about this 'tradition' as myself & youngest ;-D
