Boy - bike - beach

After breakfast with our overnight guests and a quick tidy up, I joined Mr hazelh on our tandem for a cycle ride out to East Lothian and a picnic on Gullane beach. We stopped en route for a quick browse around Sam Burns' junk yard, and to pick up ice creams and other calorific snacks at Margiotta in Aberlady.

At the spot blipped I continued to read my book about the exiled House of Orléans. Mr hazelh sunbathed and slept most of the time (recovering from the effort of the outward ride), and then studied Gaelic for a while.

We returned home just before 6pm to cook supper, water the plants, bring in the washing, and some other domestic tasks. There will be time to watch one of yesterday's quizzes before we head to bed.

Exercise today: 39 mile tandem ride.
