Bales

The landscape is constantly changing around here. Last week this area was all very long grass, on Tuesday it had all been mown, and today there are bales. I did our lawns this morning too, before it got too hot. I didn't do bales though. I tried my new cordless strimmer too. It's going to take a bit of getting used to.

My new BT hub arrived this morning, exactly the same as the one I already have but don't use as it is so unreliable. I phoned BT again yesterday to say again I didn't need a hub. This guy said they have to send one as we have to use it if we want any problems investigated. He also confirmed my worry that we will be switching us to 'digital voice. Apparently Openreach are not accepting any 'new' orders requiring voice calls through the copper wires. They have to go through the broadband connection (which comes down copper wires?). Just plug your phone into the back of the router. Unfortunately I can't because my router doesn't have a phone socket. They are sending me a digital voice adaptor which they say will solve the problem. I hope so. This morning the broadband went off for about 30 minutes, presumably as the new contract was starting up. No turning back now.

I sorted out a new contract yesterday for our LPG too. I got another 1p off when I called the supplier. It's still going to cost about another £1000 over the next 2 years.
