Ready for the off

(Right to Left) L, her walking buddy H, L's sister L and L's friend P. All ready for tonight's Moonwalk. As they've moved the start and finish point down to Leith Links this year (presumably not unrelated to the quagmire conditions at Inverleith Park last year) they convened at H's flat down in Leith. So I went down there with them for the now traditional pre-walk picture. Leaving them there I headed home, walking across town. I passed a few women in bras and Moonwalk hats and tee-shirts still making their way down Leith Walk, heading off to walk twenty-six miles in their walking shoes. The women I saw later on Queen Street at the top of The Walk were probably showing at least as much flesh but having considerably more difficulty just walking round the corner from their hotel to a fleet of waiting taxis, tottering on their heels, some leaning on each other for support. Interesting contrast.
And one last detail, going back to the four Moonwalkers. On H's bra, the initials 'DC', for a good friend whose treatment seems to be going well and is one of the women they are all walking for.
