Clever girl!

When S came over yesterday for a belated celebration of her birthday, she kindly brought me one of the lanterns she’d made for her party last weekend, clever girl! Being a balmy evening, after watching the All Blacks’ Hakka (the best part of any rugby match) I sat in the garden waiting for Mrs Tiggywinkle to pay her nightly visit.

Another difficult day in the madhouse, starting with an early morning visit from the district nurse who decided Dad needed antibiotics (that explains the last difficult few days). But to cut a long story short, had to jump through all sorts of hoops and didn’t get the meds until 6.30pm when E kindly picked them up from the pharmacy for me; the usual story of miscommunication between different bodies.

Another belated birthday celebration this afternoon, this time a month late, when a family friend came round for birthday cake (which had been in the freezer since 6th August when I was too unwell to celebrate) and bubbles. Unfortunately she was getting over a migraine, and Dad wasn’t feeling well, so the only bubbles consumed were lemonade! Then this evening the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup. I foresee a lot of rugby on the tele over the coming weeks...

28 degrees in the shade today, though with the humidity felt like 34. The supermarket delivery driver told me his van was reading a temperature of 31.5 degrees! Yet another tropical night ahead...

Thank you very much for all your recent kind comments, stars and hearts.
