Got it or not got it

We left our lovely farm cottage just before 9 a.m. and headed out along the back roads to avoid the roadworks on the A30.  Got onto the A39 east of Newquay and all was fine until just after Wadebridge, where there appeared to be a problem, and all the cars were turning round.  Being of sheep mentality, we followed suit and traversed some very narrow roads around St Teath and after a few miles were back on the A39.

We stopped at a very busy Widemouth Bay for a stroll, coffee and then a pasty.  Fuel in Bideford after an aborted attempt to stop in Appledore (packed out), so trundled down to Instow, which is a favourite spot, and nabbed a parking space on the outskirts.  A meander along the beach, and a swift half in the pub.

Onward bound we shopped just outside Ilfracombe and headed back to our accommodation in Woolacombe.  We’re tucked away around the back, which should be quiet, but the flat is roasting, so all the windows are as wide open as possible,

Still lots of people making the most of the steamy weather down on the beach as the sun was setting.
