Sheriff's Ride, Lichfield

A friend had been invited to be in the Sheriff's procession in Lichfield this morning.  It was absolutely sweltering and when I got there and found J and her horse, Marty, she was already looking warm.  That was nothing to when she donned her wool coat and top hat.  She can be seen in the image on the right of the group of 6 horses, riding side saddle in an outing for the first time.  I've added an extra to show off her outfit.

I hadn't been in Lichfield on a Saturday morning for many years; it used to be a regular destination before going on to see mom in her home and then at the nursing home.  It was just a bit too warm to hang around afterwards and check out what had changed.
