A walk and a visitor
We walked down to the Farmers’ Market today to buy cheese, coffee, potatoes and onions. We achieved the first two, but the stand that sells potatoes and onions wasn’t there today. On our way back up the hill we walked past Pottery on Tyne. There was a display table outside with a rather nice bowl on it, among other things. We decided to buy the bowl (only $20) and took it inside to pay. As it turned out the lady “on duty” was the person who made the bowl, which was rather nice. Further up the hill we saw an electricity box painted to match the house behind it, so they’re in today’s blip. When we were almost home we walked past a beautiful rhododendron tree and I couldn’t resist taking a photo of one of the blooms as it was so beautiful - it’s the third item in the blip.
The friend of our Auckland friend came for wine and cheese at 4pm and we chatted for a couple of hours. She thought our house was lovely, which was very pleasing.
We had sourdough pancakes and baked beans for supper - very ordinary, but delicious. Afterwards we watched George Clarke’s Remarkable Renovations. Some people are so clever and have so much vision. It’s so interesting to see what people achieve.
