Dragonfly

It's been another hot and humid day, with frequent showers, especially this morning .We've been busy preparing for our holiday.  
I spotted this dragon fly apparently trying to lay eggs on stones  by our pond. I only caught a brief glimpse before she flew off , but I think it is a Hawker called Aeshna cyanea as previously we have often seen this species emerging from the pond. A stunning beastie, whatever she was!
