Mermaid tears

Sea Glass, also known as beach glass, ocean glass and mermaid tears, can be located on beaches and lakes worldwide. Sea glass is glass that was dropped into the sea many years ago and after much tumbling and tossing among the rocks and sand is transformed into colourful, polished and frosted gems. I came across this example on the beach this morning.

People collect sea glass and artisans transform it into jewelry and other art forms. Sea glass enthusiasts even have their own online Sea Glass Journal!
