They’re finished!

I’m rather pleased with the results of my first efforts at restoring pieces of furniture and they’re now in place in the second bedroom.  The blip shows before, after stripping and sanding, the finished bedside tables after oiling and waxing,, and a view of the room.  The next piece awaits and it will be somewhat more difficult - quite a challenge, in fact.

I managed to touch base with my uncle and also my aunt today, both of whom seemed in good spirits, despite my aunt having had a fall and ending up with a greenstick fracture in her arm.  Our lovely blip friend, Mima, and her beautiful dog, Bean, visited for morning tea and we had a lovely time trying to set the world to rights.

After lunch MrMacD went to pick up the hedge trimmer we’d decided on yesterday, then to the AA to get a Warrant of Fitness for the car.  When he returned we had a chap come to measure the entrance to give us some idea of how much it might cost to tile it, and the garage door man came to double-check his measurements and make sure the new garage door is definitely going to fit.  After they’d both left we sat down and drove ourselves mad looking at tiles online.  There is way too much choice and so many tiles look exactly the same.  In the end we gave up.
