My meadow-style lawn :-)
I like to leave the grass and flowers in the lawn to grow long between cuts with the mower- I think it looks so much better and I like to garden in a wildlife-friendly way. Today, the very first flowers of Orange Hawkweed (Pilosella aurantiaca) are opening up! It's beautiful and is a nice refreshing bright orange- an unusual colour for a wild flower.
Also in the lawn at the moment is thyme-leaved speedwell, meadow buttercups, daisies, dandelions, ground ivy, mouse-ear hawkweed, arum lily and a variety of grasses. Another thing I love about gardens is that they are always changing in composition and never look the same from one month to the next!
