choices, choices

As a continuing part of the local festival, today we had an international street market. It was really popular and packed full of smiling folk, enjoying the dry weather and the variety of stalls. There was a larger selection of food stalls, too, compared to last year which indicates how popular the festival is becoming. As part of the festival, I went to a unique piano concert a couple of days ago. The pianist had a 'conventional' first half (ie he chose what he played) but he's becoming famous because of his memory and instant recall of thousands of tunes, and in the second half, members of the audience were invited to shout out the name of a tune, and 'in the style of', and without any hesitation, he played it. He played 19 tunes, from classical to 'twinkle twinkle little star' for the youngest member of the audience (a one year old boy who jigged about with delight) in a jazzed up version of the tune. It was such a wonderful evening.
It was carnival time yesterday but I was working hard in the garden and forgot all about it...so no blip photos!
Back to today....despite the food, these hats really caught my eye, so colourful - I've not seen hats quite like these before! (and no, I didn't buy one, although I saw one man proudly wearing his)
