Fort William
The weather forecast wasn’t brilliant so we decided to head into Fort William just before lunchtime.
Found a new car park with plenty of spaces and walked along the High street. Visited the wool shop and picked up some beautiful Shetland wool to turn into a shawl for my brother’s partner’s birthday gift.
We ended up in the sand pub as Monday for lunch and I intended to have soup but was tempted by the cauliflower and cheese burger. It didn’t look the most appealing but boy was it tasty.
Found the memorial in the extra in the park off the High street. Apparently erected on the 50th anniversary of the end of WW2. Poignant.
Stopped at the supermarket on the way back to Arisaig and just made it back to the car when the rain started. It was blowing a fake when we got back to the site and Mr PHL worried about the wind forecast for overnight, so after half an hour of listening to the rain, we donned our waterproofs and took the awning down. It took very little time thankfully and is all stowed under the van ready to be re-erected when the wind has died Tuen tomorrow.mad we were wet anyway we took Phin down to the tiny strip of beach left by the high tide where he scampered in and out of the shallows.
Felt we deserved the wee tins of gin and tonic if packed in the fridge when we got back from the beach!
Sitting here listening to the wind and rain and very thankful to be indoors. Started to catch up on journals, will get there soon.
