Homeward bound
A few days ago our ice creams were melting in temperatures well into the twenties; this morning I was very reluctant to get out of my cosy down sleeping bag into a very different atmosphere. The lady who served us at the Heather Centre told us that she had to scrape the frost off her windscreen before setting off for work. As we drove southwards the hills of the Cairngorms gradually shook off their blanket of mist that shrouded them until the warmth of the sun worked its magic. Tonight we are back home with the wood burning stove keeping us very cosy while it looks very wintry outside the window with the rain pouring down and the wind blowing through the trees.
My blip shows our approach to the Ballachulish Bridge across the mouth of Loch Leven as we head towards Oban and the ferry home.
