This is another Grade B listed building that is currently empty and in need of repair.
It is the Tolbooth* in West Wemyss, Fife. It dates from 1525 but the tall tower was not added until 1700. The current clock was installed in 1901.
* A tolbooth or town house** was the main municipal building of a Scottish burgh, from medieval times until the 19th century. The tolbooth usually provided a council meeting chamber, a court house and a jail. The tolbooth was one of three essential features in a Scottish burgh, along with the mercat cross and the kirk (church). [Wikipedia]
** The 'Town House' is what citizens south of the border would call the 'Town Hall'.
