Camino Day 11

A day of 11s! We walked about 11 miles and were finished by 11. Seemed a bit odd. We left Padron around 6.30am and arrived in O Milladoiro after a few coffee stops just before 11. When I planned stops I thought it would be a good idea to have a shorter final day’s walking (5 miles) allowing us to enjoy Santiago. Hopefully that will work. The punishing 18 mile days have been forgotten. I suspect we could have done the whole thing in 10 days, but this has worked well so far. Enjoyed a few beers and some tapas and relaxing before the final push. A lot of people had warned us yesterday that today would be very hilly and challenging. It wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be but then we have walked up a few hills and they were much bigger. To be fair, the heat and rucksacks don’t help. Looking forward to arriving tomorrow. Oh, and the blip is of yet another corn drying barn with someone’s walking shoes thrown over the nearby pylon wire.
