First big bike ride

When I titled this year the big bike rides year it was with the Manchester to Blackpool 60 mile bike ride in mind.

The Beaverbrooks Windmill bike ride on support of our local hospice wasn't on the radar until last weekend.

I figured it would be good to be out of the house instead of thinking about tomorrow's hospital visit.

There was a choice of ride distances and starting points to attract as many riders as possible and it was a fantastic sight. It was a big enough ride to give an idea what to expect.

I cycled the 5.5 miles to and from the start then did the 30 ride. I would have liked to do the 45 mile ride but I had to be back home a good time to eat my last meal before tomorrow.
But 41 miles today on top of 20 yesterday was good enough for me.

I met some really nice people en route and the sun was beautiful.
What more could I ask for?
