Rare butterfly returns to Scotland
No, not the above, which I bought some time ago from a butterfly farm in St Martin while on holiday in the Caribbean. (An English couple ran it and unfortunately the next season it was wiped out by a hurricane.)
But here is a good news butterfly story, first told to me this week by my yoga teacher who lives in the same village where the butterfly was discovered.
The Northern Brown Argus disappeared over 100 years ago then last week it was discovered by a volunteer from Butterfly Conservation.
She found it in her garden in Blairlogie after planting Common rock-rose, the only plant eaten by Northern Brown Argus caterpillars.
After some investigation a whole colony was discovered on the hillside. Lets hope they will flourish.
