Melrose Abbey from Abbey House gardens.

We spent the afternoon in and around the Melrose area. Nice visit again.

The Abbey was established in 1136. It’s a well known attraction, the property under the care of Historic Environment Scotland. The gardens are opposite, they’re in the care of the National Trust for Scotland; they’ve two other large gardens nearby.

Extras photo is of the Leaderfoot viaduct over River Tweed, built by 1865, taken from the old Drygrange Bridge built 1780.
