Bento Box

Today we have been travelling from Nikko to Hakone. We started at 8.15am and arrived at 5.00pm. A long day.

We have been in one taxi, two local trains, 2 bullet trains, one mountain train where the driver zig zags up the mountain by changing track and going forwards and backwards in a zig zag pattern- blew my mind too. Then a funicular railway then a cable car and finally a bus......... tomorrow we go on a boat just to complete the set.

You are only allowed to eat and drink on the bullet trains. Here is our Bento box of rice, pickle and dumplings. Beats a tesco meal deal.

Our Ryokan has 1 shower for all 10 of us and 3 toilets. I'm afraid I'm a girl who likes a bit of luxury, or at least private facilities. I will just have to suck it up. When in Japan...
