Sperm Whale
My blip today was going to be the little fishing village if Appilattoq in the Prinz Cristian Sund, but I will post that in the extra. This village, like lots of others, has shrunk from 100 inhabitants to about 50 today over the last decade. Life is hard, the village is remote, and is supported by 2 supply ships a year. There are no roads in Greenland. A way of life is dying out.
As we were sailing away up the west coast towards Nuuk, two sperm whales accompanied us before diving to the depths. This is the sequence of the dive with the arched back then the fluke rising and sinking.
