Val d‘Orcia

A very scenic e-Bike round in the hills around Pienza, between Montalcino and Montepulciano. Half sunny with 26°. Perfect.

Mostly dusty gravel roads, plenty of hilltop farms, vineyards and villas but only a few villages. Stopped in San Quirico d‘Orcia for lunch in the narrow aisles of the old town. The advantage of using the bike is also no need to look for the non-existing parking spaces.

We managed to do 35km and 700m altitude by mid afternoon. Jumping into the pool and preparing a „small“ dinner with cold delicacies. Wine from Montalcino tonight.
