Gorgeous skies

Saturday
Roger asked if we could have blueberry pancakes this morning for breakfast, so how could I refuse?! After breakfast I did several lessons of Duolingo - still doing Norwegian at present, after our vacation. We are still thinking in terms of fairly flat preferably smooth walks at present, so we spent some time discussing where to go, and we finally decided on a new walk for us, along the Great Miami River, on the west side of town, starting from Joyce Park in Fairfield, the area we lived in when we first moved over here way back in 1979, with no plans to stay beyond about three years! Funny how life can turn out so different from what you think!! I think this stretch of trail has been fairly recently done, judging from the state of the tarmac and markings. We were expecting it to be more built up than it was - it was actually very pleasant. Our turn around point was as we were beginning to enter Hamilton, at which point it would have become more urban. We saw a number of birds, the ubiquitous Canada geese, great blue herons, cormorants, and at one point I’m pretty sure a bald eagle - - I know there is a pair that nests near the river in the Hamilton area. There were quite a few cyclists, though the trail is nowhere near as popular as the Little Miami trail that we cycle on regularly. As you can see from my thumbnail photo, there were some beautiful skies as we walked, though by the time we got back to the car it was clouding over.
