Wild horses

wouldn't have stopped us going for a walk today. Headed over to Sedbergh for a walk in the stunning Howgills. Hazy sunshine most of the morning for which we were grateful as we hauled ourselves up very steep slopes. The panoramic views were sublime. Lunch was supplemented by midges and crane flies which suddenly appeared from the long grass as the sun came out! We hastily headed off back down hill with the tapestry of more buttercup fields laid out before us. Stopped to paddle in a crystal clear icy stream, marvelled at the very shaggy sheep here (Wensleydales maybe? must check) and then stumbled across a group of wild horses. Luckily they were utterly unfazed by us, so we stopped and watched the two foals with their mothers. Beautiful sight. As I had the wrong lens packed you don't get a panorama of the plump emerald pillows that are the Howgills, instead you get the pony and a hint of Howgill hill behind.
Hope your weekends were as lovely.
