Inquisitive geese of the Thames
Bankside, London
Wandered through Covent Garden first thing and down to Somerset House. On to the bells of St Clements (the Dane church) as the first of a few Wren churches. Along to St Paul's, with a pause at St Martin of Ludgate. A detour to see the Memorial to Heroic Self-sacrifice at Postman's Park. Then across the Millennium Bridge.
A very well performed matinee of the Scottish play at the Globe. It began to rain just before the play began. The various school trips in the pit suffering the rain but seeming to enjoy the immersion of actors amongst them. We were seated and somewhat sheltered. Though as Banquo said "The air is delicate" a sharp wind ruffled the ponchos and blew in on us. Still, nothing could dampen the experience for us.
Venturing out we encountered these geese, presumably often fed as they came to investigate us. We promptly left.
A meandering walk back; up Drury Lane, along through SoHo (with a pause to see the Toucan) and a loop around Carnaby Street, Piccadily Circus and Trafalgar Square to end the day.
