My new garden gnome.
The weather has been cleansing everything in the garden! Torrential rain. The water butt is full up.
I brought this solitary new gnome indoors, away from the heavy downpours. He is made of strong plastic and has a solar light and battery. He is just a talking point and bought from Amazon to honour the Nature realm. I am of Catholic Anglican heritage but I don't worship statues, ever. I see Holy statues as a little sinful if I can be honest, as the Commandments tell us not to make graven images etc. I rarely buy garden ornaments but I just felt inspired to add one gnome to bring joy and light to an otherwise small productive garden that was well tended by the dear people we bought it from and who live near us.
It feels Autumnal and yesterday morning was so miserably cold indoors we agreed to put the heating on for an hour. It lifted the gloom and soon the rooms in the house felt cosy and pleasant. Cost of energy is a big worry, so we are cautious about such comfort. I wrap myself in a warm blanket and that suffices.
I am thankful for a good book and it is called The Golden Future by Diana Cooper. By 2032 much will be different to how life is now. Some things will be free. I recommend the book. It is on Audible as well.
