Piled higher and Deeper

Got this cooler bag at the vendor show at work on friday. It's funny what a Phd student's perception of doing a PhD is. Everyone seems to think its a waste of time. Then why do so many do it? It's true, 99.99% of the experiments done do not work and it's one of the most frustrating jobs I can think of.

Ontop of that you are poorly paid until you can make the jump to industry if you feel so inclined. But on that rare occasion when you do that fateful experiment and discover something new and interesting (in your or your bosses eyes) then it can make up for it (briefly).

I am seriously considering a career away from the bench as my next step from post-doc'ing. For a change of scenery after 6+ years of lab work.

Went to Costco and spent the mandatory $300 on super value sizes of everything. Not exactly sure it works out cheaper than buying smaller and more often. Also got some passport photos for continued green card application filling in. Spent most of afternoon working out how to fill on such forms....
