Kotare on the look out

Stopped on the way home after work for a walk along the Tony Segedin Esplanade. Not much to see on the mudflats from the path along the edge of the Whau Estuary. There is nowhere to look out unobstructed by shrubs and weeds. Except for where this Kotare/Kingfisher was perched on a fallen pine tree. If I had been more appropriately dressed for a bit of a clamber I may have been able to get closer. Of course had I go closer it would probably frightened the Kotare away.
