All Aboard For A Gnome Home

I took a little trip out to Allington Lock today. I bought myself a drink at The Malta Inn and sat at one of the riverside tables just watching the moored boats, barges and narrow boats bobbing gently up and down as the river flowed past.
At the height of summer all the outdoor tables are usually taken but as it's now late Summer morphing into Autumn and the kids have gone back to school it is much quieter and it felt such a lovely place to sit with my drink and just let my mind wonder.
I then had a thoroughly enjoyable stroll along the riverbank path, marred only slightly by having to make way for two electric scooter riders and one cyclist - none of whom said thank you when I let them past, to the Marina and back to stretch my legs and capture this image for blip. The little bearded fellow looked right at home on the rear deck of this narrow boat!
