Blaenavon

Busy day around Blaenavon today.

We started in the Workmen's Hall, looking at a photography exhibition from a local social documentary photographer.  From there we drove up the road following a brown sign that featured both a duck a train, so we had visions of ducks riding on trains.  Disappointedly, it turned out to be separate things - a nature reserve and a heritage railway!  We had a good walk around a couple of lakes, then went down the railway and photographed the station.  There were no trains running today.

After lunch at the heritage centre back in Blaenavon we went up to the Iron Works, the remains of a site used for production of Iron.  The main blip is of an exhibit that showed how the process worked.  We then finished off the day with a trip up to Big Pit again, trying to do the outdoor bits that we failed to do on Tuesday because of the rain.  It rained on us again!
