Watching
This was taken at Broadstairs later in the day. The rain was approaching fast - we made it back to the car before it started in earnest.
We started the day at Pegwell Bay where we had a walk around the nature reserve. We then drove on to Ramsgate and parked on the esplanade. We walked towards the harbour, stopping for lunch on the way. One of the extras shows the view from the East Pier. I didn't really recognise anything from my childhood, but that was hardly surprising given that the flats in the picture are very recent. The buildings that previously occupied the site (Pleasurama) apparently burned down in 1998 and I last went to Ramsgate before that. Second extra shows the colourful steps down from the top of the cliff. We also had a walk up to Chatham House Grammar School, but haven't included any extras of that (sorry Dad). At Broadstairs we had a walk along the beach where there were lots of colourful beach huts. We took the scenic route back via Margate in the rain. We will come back here and visit properly another day.
