… Salome with the head of John the Baptist, (1609) in the Galeria de las Colecciones Reales. The enormous gallery is entirely new, having just opened in late June 2023.

Everything in it belongs to the Spanish State, from huge tapestries and State coaches to paintings and various sorts of decorative art. Through these works, it presents a history of Spain from its earliest years.
