Three boats and a beach

16.2C with a thin cloud layer breaking in the afternoon to give blue sky with white clouds.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. As we walked down the bridle path we could see that the watering equipment was partly set up in the potato field to our right. I made a mental note to water my main crop potatoes this evening.

The tide was out a fair bit. The beach was empty.
We wandered along very slowly. The clouds were just beginning to break and show some small patches of blue sky.

I was able to walk out on the sand and get this angle on the boats and the beach with some light on the colours of the boats.

I was greatly saddened by the news of the death of the author Iain Banks. Since he made the announcement of his illness a few short months ago I made a point of reading The Crow Road again. It is my favourite of his books. I much admire the way he faced up to the diagnosis of his cancer and made the most of the short time that remained to him.
