More Plitvice

A good 20km romp around the parts of the lakes we hadn’t reached yesterday. Within a whisker of bears (some had seen paw prints). There were kingfishers, marsh frogs, heron, a Melanistic black red squirrel (?), jays, nuthatches, a terrific range of fungi and a lot of rain. The people disappeared with the rain and we had parts of the trails completely (though I had prickles, a feeling we were being watched by a bear at times ) to ourselves.

Back at our room, there was a welcome cup of tea, and slivovitz if you desired, plus a magnificent hare racing round the garden. Then we nipped out for a takeaway pizza and met a herd of wild boar on the way back.
