been there
Unfortunately, the purported STEM gubbins at Moray House under Doors Open Day wasn't happening and the children were grumping too much to make it viable to stay for a tour (which I would have liked in order to see a bit more of the inside of the place than the single room I once played/sang in sometime around 1995), so I left my bike on St. John Street and took the big one and his associate over the crags (past, it is worth noting, another January 2007-style forest of dumpybags full of stones for laying paths or steps) to meet the others at the museum, to which they had walked directly. The electric hamster wheel exhibit has disappeared, replaced with a floor-touchpad system, leading to speculation about a possible incident prompting its removal, considering that there are other knackered exhibits nearby such as the deflated hot air balloon and broken screen on the power generation game thing. Next year, we'll have to book early to try and get a tour of the observatory; it's unfortunate that all the KB science stuff was mostly on Saturday, for which both children were already heavily-booked.
