Platform

We arrived at our caravan yesterday afternoon and return home tomorrow morning, so a bit of a flying visit.

A platform has been constructed at RSPB Leighton Moss with a view to attracting a pair of ospreys to construct a nest and to breed. This year is has attracted a pair of greater black backed gulls - also impressive birds. Their nest sits atop the structure.

The staff have been excited today because a young Osprey landed on the nest and spent some time there. They are hoping he will remember it when he returns from Africa in two years time (young birds stay in Africa for two years after migrating south).

Let’s hope so. In the meantime, that’s a cormorant perched on the left hand side, and a camera on the right. The camera images feed into a screen in the café.

J had another go on the to hire mobility scooter - the Harley Davison of the mobility scooter world. Her bruises are fading, and her back is a lot better, and thankfully no problems today.
