Sunny Yorkshire
An impromptu visit to RSBP Old Moor in the Dearne Valley South Yorkshire.
it’s only 45 minutes with a fair wind but at times traffic can be heavy as the route crosses an M1 junction.
Lunch was good just a Homemade Soup and sandwich but just what was needed.
I would have called these birds Common Sandpipers but was told they are Green Sandpipers and that looks right in Field Guides.
Extra photos of Little Egret and Spoonbills. These are birds that were never seen in the UK 30 years ago and today there were 10 Spoonbills!
We would have missed seeing a Kingfisher without someone pointing it out!
There were quite a few raptors around and we good good views of two different Marsh Harriers, Two different Sparrowhawks, Kestrel BUT only distant views of Hobby and Buzzards.
I counted 39 different species but as I am only doing it from memory have probably forgotten some. Many dragonflies ( not even sure what they all were!)
