The colchicum have started to bloom this week. I stopped to take a photo of this one today and noticed the spider on it had killed a wasp.
We rearranged some plants in one garden this morning. Then moved on to another property. Shrubs had been planted when the house was built 15 years ago. Cedars and dwarf Alberta spruce. They were about 2 feet high when they were planted about a foot away from the foundations 15 years ago. Now they are 10 - 12 feet high and blocking the windows on the lower level. There is also a columnar oak planted near the front walkway, also about a foot away from the foundation. I am keeping the oak there, but may have to talk to an arborist about pruning it. I left one cedar at the other end of the bed and when we go back with soil, mulch and more plants we will move it out about a foot. We had cake while we were there, the client is a Lebanese woman, she shares the house with her son and daughter-in-law. She likes to cook and bake, so she had a cake ready for us today.
