From the dark corner.....

I'm keeping an eye on you.....

Ah Monday! You come too quickly!

After being a bit of a tour guide yesterday combined with lots of walks, sunshine and a rotten cold, I could have seriously wept when the alarm went off this morning. I was like a Zombie walking into the bathroom and barely opened my eyes until I was downstairs. The shower helped a bit but I groaned aloud thinking of my optician's appointment after work. I had visions of being asked if I could read the top line and all he'd get from me would be zzzzzzzzz......!

I was OK once out in the fresh air shocked into being wide awake by how cold it was after the warm weekend! Back to gloves for me again when I came out of McDonalds with my morning cuppa. The hours drifted by with reports stuff and raising orders but it was soon lunchtime and it was out to Robert Dyas for mealworms and suet cake. After a short afternoon, I went to the optician's phoning mom on the way. She was a bit tiddly on Prosecco when I'd spoken to her on Saturday after the Britain's Got Talent final!

I dread going to the optician as I always find it really funny when the light is being shone at the back of my eyes and I am being told to look up to the left, down to the right or at the top of his left ear. Firstly, I don't drive and always get left and right wrong. Secondly, when I haven't got my lenses in and have a bright beam in my eyes, what ear? I can't bloody see anything except his wispy hair looking like a mad spider! I am the only person I know who can fail an eye test! Dearie me!

Oh well. Nothing much had changed thank goodness and after he had taken pictures of the back of my eyes with the big machine in the next room, he put the shots on his screen. The two orange ones are the backs of my eyes in case you were wondering and I don't know whether the other is my left or right but I assure you I do have one of each - *Ouch! Just checking..* - so I got my camera out and took the photo of his screen. Sorted!

Track? This is my favourite version of a beautiful song written by Etta James. It is traditionally sung by women but I love this version by Stan Webb. I've seen him do it a few times too - I'd Rather Go Blind....
