Nicky and her Nikon

Waiting

On Monday night when we had our camera club meeting on zoom, many people were away so we only had 26 people who had dialled in, and of those 26 people, two had Covid. Both were not very ill and were coping fine. Our chairman questioned whether we should go back to wearing masks for in-person-meetings but that was unanimously turned down, although we asked if people feel ill to test before coming to the meeting.

Last night Gavin and I thoroughly enjoyed the play The Father and The Assassin, about Gandhi's assassin, it was excellent and I can highly recommend it. There was a famous actor sitting in front of us and for the life of me I cannot remember his name, although his face was so familiar.

I had my weekly ladies golf group this morning, it was so warm that we practised chipping outside on the course, we try to take advantage of the good weather and dry course before the winter cold and rain comes. This afternoon it has got blustery with the storm that is further north, but tomorrow seems better weather again.

I also spent some time selecting images and putting them into the required sizes for an external competition, it is the first time I am entering the annual Surrey Photography Association individual print and PDI (digital images) competition. We have to submit our images by Saturday although the competition is in October, which we have to attend in person, when we will also bring our prints in - the digital images of the prints had to be submitted now. A few members from our club have also entered, and the main benefit of attending is seeing how a panel of three judges get through hundreds of images and how they judge in seconds without any critique given, very different from our internal club competitions.

This is Xena waiting - she is such a funny little thing, if she does not like the look of the dog walking in front of her, she will often hang back until it has moved on - or sometimes she speeds up and does a big detour through the trees alongside the path to avoid the dog. She used to be quite indiscriminate as a puppy, she would go up to any dog, now she seems more discerning!
