Grandmother's Bonnet
Yesterday, these flowers were basking in late afternoon sunshine. Today - dark, cloudy, cool and now (almost 10 o' clock) it's raining. I do hope that the last ten days or so weren't summer and now it's going to rain until September.
Busy day today. Got the recycling sorted and washed the bins, then gave a very thorough cleaning to the shower, which now sparkles like a new pin. That all took me up to about midday, when I had a quick lunch and then changed and set off to my wife's school for an afternoon of supply work. Not only that I've got to go back for the whole day tomorrow. It does make me appreciate being retired!
Had a nice time during the afternoon - worked on science and did chromotography - putting a blob of felt tip pen in the middle of a square of blotting paper and then putting drops of water on it to see what happens. There were lots of 'wow's and 'cool's - until it came to working as a group to write up and present the results. That really showed the children who could cooperate and those who found it a little more challenging!
Evening spent working on trying to get four postcards which I have designed onto a sheet of A4 and then printed out without losing the edges of some of the postcards. Succeeded in the end and now I have to see if I can find suitable photo paper/card which will be cheap enough to make it viable to print some and sell them in the local post office. Could be the beginning of a card empire!
